My online name is Surokoida and in real life I am a 29 year old guy living near Bayreuth in Bavaria, Germany.
Like many other furries i work in IT, specifically Azure Cloud & IT-Architecture. If you also have experience working with Microsoft Enterprise stuff you know the joys and pain that entails 😉
Why does this site exist?
To keep it simple: i wanted to have a place thats “mine”, free from enshittification. Also, i want to write about topics that interest me.
Like many of my generation, i grew up with the internet and social media. German forums (“Thread closed, use the search function”), SchülerVZ, Reddit, Twitter, you name it.
For me, these platforms were a great way to connect with people from all over the world and learn about topics that interested me. I may have lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere but still i had access to tons of information & content from all over the world.
However in recent years, the internet has changed a lot. Intrusive Ads. Algorithms trying to get you to spend as much time as possible on the platform. Platforms being scraped by AI and flooded with AI-generated content.
I want some control back.
How i got into the furry fandom
While i have always been a fan of anthropomorhic characters such as Donald Duck, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot or the wolf from the soviet propaganda Ну, погоди!, my introduction to the furry fandom happened in 2011.
You know what released in 2011 and has since then been re-released for at least 15 times? Skyrim.
Did i play this game for hundres of hours? Yes.
Was my character an Argonian? Hell yeah.
Are dragons and scalies cool? Hell yeah!
Did i search online for Argonians? Hell yeah!!
Was this my introduction to the furry fandom via a known image board and also made me realize i am not straight? Guess what.
Why are there no comments on posts?
First, i dont want to deal with spam.
Second, as a german citizen i am responsible for the content of my site, which also includes comments. I dont want to monitor comments for offensive / illegal content.
