How i got into the furry fandom
While i have always been a fan of anthropomorhic characters such as Donald Duck, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot or the wolf from the soviet propaganda Ну, погоди!, my introduction to the furry fandom happened in 2011.
You know what released in 2011 and has since then been re-released for at least 15 times? Skyrim.
Did i play this game for hundres of hours? Yes.
Was my character an Argonian? Hell yeah.
Are dragons and scalies cool? Hell yeah!
Did i search online for Argonians? Hell yeah!!
Was this my introduction to the furry fandom via a known image board and also made me realize i am not straight? Guess what.
Huge influences on me regarding the furry fandom were the comics Circles and Fur-Piled. I still have physical copies of both!
Additionally Halley Labs, formerly Lapfox Trax was a great introduction to this fandom. The most memorable songs for me are Stag Party, Gabberstag and THE CANDYPUMP (beware, its Gabbercore / Happy Hardcore music 😉 ).
Why does this site exist?
I want to have a space thats mine where i can write about stuff that interests and me is free from “enshittification”.
Like many of my generation, i grew up with the internet and social media. German forums (“Thread closed, use the search function”), SchülerVZ, Reddit, Twitter, you name it.
For me, these platforms were a great way to connect with people from all over the world and learn about topics that interested me. I may have lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere but still i had access to tons of information & content from all over the world.
However in recent years, the internet has changed a lot. Intrusive Ads. Algorithms trying to get you to spend as much time as possible on the platform. Platforms being scraped by AI and flooded with AI-generated content.
I want some control back.

Tech
I work in the IT-field, obviously i am a nerd.
I really like to talk about the mobile OS Android and iOS. I dont know why, mobile devices are fun for me and the biggest reason for financially irresponsible decisions.
Besides that i like to play around with lots of stuff. Thankfully i get to do that to a certain degree in my day to tay job where i dabble with API Gateways, VMs and Low Code Stuff.
Oh yeah and also networking. I dont like networking. I have lost way too many hours troubleshooting shit which was then solved with a single port forwarding rule. Fuck networking.
I do think “AI”1 is an useful tool, however i am tired of big companies pushing it into places it shouldnt be (Copilot in Notepad), replacing creative stuff (leave artists alone please) or big companies talking about it like its the second third fourth coming of jesus christ.
Remember kids, the blockchain-powered big data industry 4.0 Artificial General Intelligence is just around the corner, if you just buy enough stocks you will be favored when skynet emerges and takes control.
